I used to make homemade ice cream like Raspberry Rhubarb Ice Cream and KitchenAid Chocolate Ice Cream in my ice cream maker. I also made lots of no-churn ice creams like Smores No Churn Ice Cream and No Churn Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream.
But now that I have a Ninja Creami machine, I think this is by far the easiest way to make ice cream at home. Check out Ninja Creami chocolate ice cream, Ninja Creami Cookies and Cream Ice Cream, and 21 Delicious Ninja Creami Recipes for more recipes.

How To Make Ninja Creami Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
This is an easy recipe to make. Follow the instructions or watch the video below.
- Make the ice cream base by adding heavy cream, whole milk, powdered sugar, mint extract, and 2 drops of green food coloring to a blender, food processor, or personal blender.
- Mix on high speed until combined. If you want the ice cream to be darker green, add another drop of food coloring and blend again.
- Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint jar, making sure not to fill past the MAX FILL line. Place on the lid and freeze for at least 24 hours.
- Remove the pint jar from the freezer, take off the lid, and set the pint container into the Ninja Creami bowl. Secure the lid and place the bowl assembly onto the machine. Turn the handle right and lock it in place on the motor base. Select the "Ice Cream" function and let the machine churn the ice cream.
- If the ice cream appears too thick or crumbly after churning, use a spoon to create a small hole in the middle of the ice cream. Add a tablespoon of heavy cream, place the lid assembly back on, and use the "RE-SPIN" function for a smoother texture.
- Remove the lid and use a spoon to make a well in the center of the ice cream down to the bottom of the pint jar. Add chocolate chips, place on the lid assembly, and select the MIX-IN function.
- Once churned, remove the pint jar from the machine. Remove the lid. The ice cream should have a creamy consistency. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Tip
Place the pint jar on a level surface in the freezer.
Dairy Substitution Suggestions
- Heavy cream - instead of heavy cream, you can use full-fat coconut cream.
- Whole milk - use unsweetened almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk.
Variations
- Extra minty - add an extra drop or two of mint extract.
- Extra chocolatey - add regular chocolate chips and mini chocolate chips or chocolate chunks.
- Low carb - use Stevia or your favorite sugar substitute.
Storage Tips
Mint chocolate chip ice cream can be stored in the Ninja Creami pint jar in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
Top tips
- Add one tablespoon of heavy cream after the initial spin.
- Re-spin for the smoothest, creamiest texture.
- Keep a pint in the freezer so you can indulge whenever a craving strikes!
FAQ's
Yes, you can use white sugar or your favorite sugar substitute.

We just a Ninja creami, my husband LOVES ice cream!! However we need to try and make it somewhat healthier😊. I was wondering if the ice creams that have heavy cream and whole milk would work with fat free half and half and skim milk instead or do you have any suggestions? I have made lots of just fruit ones, but would love to make some of his favorite ice cream flavors. Thank you.

Hi Cindy, that's a great question! Yes, you can use fat-free half and half and skim milk, or just use 2% milk and churn it on the 'Lite Ice Cream' button. It won't be as creamy as heavy cream and whole milk, but will still be delicious. You can also add flavored protein powder as well which will help give it a creamier texture. I hope this helps! 🙂
