How to Make Ninja Creami Cookies and Cream Ice Cream
For step-by-step instructions with detailed measurements, jump to the recipe card.
Step 1
Mix the Ingredients: Add the heavy cream, whole milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to a blender and blend for 10-15 seconds to combine.
Step 2
Fill: Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container. Do not fill past the MAX FILL line.
Step 3
Freeze: Place the lid on the pint jar and place the pint upright in your freezer on a level surface for at least 24 hours.
Step 4
Churn: Once frozen, remove the pint jar from the freezer and take off the lid. Insert the pint container into the Ninja Creami bowl assembly. Secure the outer lid assembly, and place bowl assembly on the motor base, turning it to the right to lock it in place. Select the "Ice Cream" button.
Step 5
Indent: If the ice cream looks dry or powdery, make a small indent with a spoon and add a tablespoon of milk or cream.
Step 6
Respin: Place the lid assembly back on and use the RE-SPIN button. This will give you the PERFECT texture.
Step 7
Add Mix-Ins: Use a spoon to make a well in the center of the churned ice cream down to the bottom of the pint jar. Add the halved Oreo cookies into the well. Secure the lid and use the "MIX-IN" button to evenly mix the cookies throughout the ice cream.
Step 8
Serve: Your homemade cookies and cream ice cream is now ready! Serve immediately and enjoy every bite!
Substitutions and Variations
- Milk: Use coconut cream instead of heavy cream; and coconut milk, almond milk, or oat milk instead of whole milk.
- Sweeteners: Use your favorite preferred sweetener.
- Oreos: You can use any chocolate sandwich cookies; they don't have to be Oreos. I like to use golden Oreos sometimes for something different.
- Vanilla: Use pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste for the best flavor.
- Extra Add-Ins: Add chocolate chips and serve with a swirl of chocolate sauce.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Overfilling the Container: Do not fill the pint container past the MAX FILL line; otherwise, it will overflow and make a mess.
- Insufficient Freezing Time: Freeze the mixture for at least 24 hours.
- Skipping the Respin: Don't skip the RE-SPIN step if the ice cream looks dry or crumbly. I ALWAYS add extra cream or milk and do a RE-SPIN for the creamiest ice cream.
How to Store Ninja Creami Cookies and Cream Ice Cream
Store: Place storage lid on the pint jar and freeze for up to 2 weeks.
Re-churn: Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes before re-churning in the Ninja Creami ice cream machine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can use any kind of cookies for this recipe.
If you add mix-ins before freezing, they will sink to the bottom, harden, and won't mix in properly.
You only need to use the "RE-SPIN" function if the ice cream is dry and crumbly after the first churn. If your ice cream is nice and creamy you can skip the RE-SPIN. However, I always do a RE-SPIN with mine, it makes a HUGE difference.
