Welcome to Winding Creek Ranch! I'm so glad you stopped by!
My name is Jeri Walker, and I am the creator, photographer, writer, vlogger, and recipe developer behind this food blog. I'm also the mom to 3 grown kids and a dog mom to my Saint Bernard dog, Bruno, and cat, Lucy. I am obsessed with my Air Fryer and Pellet Grill and started a new career as a food blogger almost 3 years ago!
Welcome to Winding Creek Ranch!
On this blog, you’ll find easy and delicious recipes made with everyday ingredients. I love to cook delicious meals for my family, and I hope you'll love them too!
If you're often wondering what to cook for dinner at 5 o'clock, you're in the right place!

About Me

When I'm not in the kitchen testing new recipes, I can usually be found hiking, gardening, fishing, skiing, or kayaking - depending on the season. I also love to travel to new places and try new restaurants!
Feel free to reach out at jeri(at)windingcreekranch(dot)org. I would love to hear your comments and questions!
More About Me
Some of my fondest memories are of being in the kitchen when I was young, watching my grandma cook. Every time I smell lemon muffins, I immediately think of her. However, I used to be a picky eater and didn't like trying anything new.
As a result, I had no cooking skills whatsoever. In college, I used to heat up Lean Cuisine dinners, make Hamburger Helper, or grab a rotisserie chicken for supper. I ate Kraft Dinner more times than I care to admit.
Then, at some point, I realized that I never liked to cook because of a fear of failing. I could never throw a little of this and a little of that in a pot and make something amazing. If I tried doing that, it usually went in the garbage. True story. My friends would probably laugh if they read this because they know it's true. 🙂
Over the years, with the desire to make healthier meals for my family, I read every cookbook and magazine I could get my hands on to educate myself. I also watched every cooking show I could.
And now, with the support of my amazing family (my cheerleaders behind the scenes), I have blossomed into the skilled home chef I am now. I hit the publish button on Winding Creek Ranch in 2021 and never looked back. I hope my photos have improved over the years, and I am grateful to have so many readers.
About The Blog
Here, you'll find quick and easy meals - many that are 30 minutes or less that use everyday ingredients. It is surprising to me still how the right combination of simple ingredients can give you extraordinary results.
You'll also find Instant Pot Recipes, Air Fryer Recipes, and Pellet Grill Recipes. I am obsessed with these appliances.
My family are my taste testers. If they don't go back for seconds and declare it blog-worthy, it doesn't make it onto the blog. Period.
Because I am a coffeeholic who loves to save money by making DIY Beverages at home, you will find a variety of Starbucks Copycat Recipes.
If you are a hunter, I have various Venison Recipes as well. My husband and daughter fill our freezer with deer, elk, and grouse every fall.
My goal is to make cooking enjoyable for YOU, so my recipes are always easy and delicious. I include step-by-step photos with every recipe to guarantee success.
I want to make your life easier by sharing recipes that will work for you and your family - because I believe families are stronger when they eat together.

Absolutely! Every recipe comes with detailed step-by-step instructions and accompanying photos.
I have over 40 years of self-taught cooking experience and worked as a teaching assistant in a high school Foods class before blogging full-time. It was a fun and rewarding experience teaching 15 to 18-year-olds how to cook.
