Ingredients & Substitutions
All you need to make this tropical smoothie are the following simple ingredients:
- Vanilla yogurt. You can use regular yogurt, Greek yogurt, or plain yogurt.
- Coconut milk. You can also use canned coconut milk, light coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, dairy milk, or coconut water.
- Fresh mango. You can also use frozen mango chunks.
- Pineapple. Use frozen pineapple or canned pineapple instead of fresh. If using canned, drain the liquid before adding it to your blender or your smoothie will be too watery.
- Lime juice. This is my secret ingredient for a fantastic tropical flavor.
- Orange juice. Use pineapple juice instead.
See the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post for quantities and a full list of ingredients.
How To Make A Mango Pineapple Smoothie
- In a blender, add yogurt, coconut milk, mango, pineapple chunks, orange juice, lime juice, and ice cubes.
- Blend everything at high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- If the mixture is too thick, add more orange juice. If you want it thicker, add more ice cubes.
- Divide between two tall glasses and serve immediately. Garnish with small pieces of extra mango or pineapple and enjoy!
If you are using frozen mango and pineapple, omit the ice cubes unless you want a really thick smoothie.
Optional Add-Ins
- Add all-natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup if you want your smoothie a bit sweeter.
- Bulk it up with chia seeds, hemp seeds, hemp hearts, protein powder, or nut butter.
Variations
- Add some fresh ginger for an extra zing.
- Add a handful of spinach or kale.
- Make a mango pineapple banana smoothie by adding a banana.
