Like my very popular Air Fryer Crispy Sweet Potato Fries, these wedges are easy to make and come out crispy and delicious.

🍠 Ingredients
These sweet potato wedges are made with simple ingredients you can easily find at your local grocery store.
- Sweet potatoes. I used organic sweet potatoes, so I just scrubbed the skin really well. If you don't have organic, I would suggest peeling them first. You can even use regular potatoes to make these easy wedges.
- Olive oil. I used olive oil, but you can also use avocado oil or vegetable oil. You can also use oil in spray form. I do not recommend using cooking spray as it can ruin the finish on your air fryer basket
- Salt. I used pink Himalayan sea salt as well as seasoning salt. You could also use table salt or kosher salt.
- Garlic powder. I used garlic powder, but you could also use garlic salt or garlic flakes.
- Paprika. Paprika adds great flavor to these wedges. For extra flavor, use smoked paprika.

🔪 Step-by-step instructions
First, preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
Then, wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Place the potatoes on a cutting board. Cut the potatoes into wedges.
To do this, cut the potatoes in half with a sharp knife. Then, put the flat side down on the cutting board and cut each half into 3 or 4 wedges.
Place the wedges into a large mixing bowl. Drizzle or spray olive oil over the wedges. Toss until each wedge is coated evenly in oil. I find it easiest to hold the bowl with two hands and give everything a good toss.
Sprinkle the seasoning blend over the wedges and give the bowl another little shake or two to coat the wedges evenly.
Place the seasoned wedges in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Set the cook time for 14 minutes.
Halfway through the cooking time, flip the wedges over. Spray with oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt.
The wedges are cooked when they are fork-tender and are crispy on the outside.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Enjoy!
Hint: Make sure to spray the wedges with oil when you flip them; it makes them crispier and even more delicious.
📖 Variations
These crispy wedges can be made with a variety of seasonings; here are some great options to try:
- Season with seasoned salt and black pepper; it's simple and flavorful.
- Experiment with spices such as smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and Cajun seasoning.
- For a spicy twist, try seasoning them with cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. You can also add black pepper or chili powder.
- If you're looking for a sweeter option, try tossing the wedges in cinnamon and sugar.
🍽 Equipment
To make this recipe, you will need an air fryer. I used my Instant Pot Vortex air fryer, a basket style, which gives me excellent results every time.
It preheats automatically and lets me know when to add the food, and it beeps to tell me when to flip the food halfway through the cooking time.
