Air Fryer Corn on the Cob is one of the easiest ways to cook sweet corn fast, with tender kernels, lightly roasted edges, and almost no cleanup. It's a simple side dish made with fresh corn, butter, and seasoning, and it comes out juicy, flavorful, and ready in about 10 minutes.

My Favorite Air Fryer Corn Tip
I usually cook corn at 380°F instead of 400°F because it gives me tender kernels with a little color around the edges without drying them out.

Why This Is One I Make All Summer
Once fresh corn is ready in my garden and starts showing up at the store and the farmers market, this is one of the first sides I start making on repeat. The air fryer is faster than boiling a big pot of water, easier than firing up the grill, and it still gives the corn a little roasted flavor that makes it feel like more than just steamed corn.
I like this method especially on busy nights because it works just as well for a couple of ears as it does for a bigger batch. If I'm making air fryer chicken thighs, bone in pork chops in air fryer, thin pork chops in air fryer, or anything barbecue-inspired, this is an easy side that fits right in.
If you want to turn fresh corn into more of a cookout-style side, my Mexican street corn salad is another easy favorite.

Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Fast. Corn cooks in about 10 to 12 minutes.
- Easy cleanup. No large pot of boiling water and no grill to watch.
- Flexible. Keep it simple with butter and salt or finish it with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients You'll Need
Here are a few quick notes on the basic ingredients and the swaps that work best.
- Corn on the cob. Fresh ears work best, especially when the kernels are plump and sweet. I love using sweet corn (aka peaches and cream corn), the kind that has yellow and white kernels.
- Oil or melted butter. A light coating helps the seasoning stick and keeps the surface from drying out.
- Salt and pepper. Simple and classic, especially if you want the natural sweetness of the corn to stand out.
- Optional toppings. Garlic butter, parmesan, chili powder, lime juice, fresh herbs, or paprika all work well.

How to Make Air Fryer Corn on the Cob
Remove the husks and silk from each ear of corn, then trim the ends if needed so they fit in your air fryer basket.
Add the husked corn cobs to a plate or tray and pat it dry if needed.
Brush the corn lightly with olive oil or melted butter, then season with salt and pepper.

Place the corn in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 380°F for 10 to 12 minutes, turning halfway through, until the kernels are tender and lightly roasted in spots.

Remove the corn from the air fryer and brush with more butter if you like. Serve right away.

How Long to Air Fry Corn on the Cob
Most ears of corn cook in about 10 to 12 minutes at 380°F. Smaller ears may be done a little sooner, while very large ears can take an extra minute or two.
You'll know the corn is ready when the kernels are hot and tender and the outside has a few lightly golden roasted spots.
Tips for the Best Air Fryer Corn
- Don't overcrowd the basket. Leave a little space around each ear so the hot air can circulate and cook the corn evenly. You may have to cook in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Turn halfway through. This helps both sides cook evenly and gives the corn a better finish.
- Pat the corn dry if needed. A drier surface helps the oil or butter cling better and keeps the seasoning from sliding off.
- Adjust for size. Very large ears may need an extra minute or two.
- Serve it hot. Corn is at its best right after cooking, when it's still juicy and tender.
Variations
- Classic buttered corn: Finish with extra butter and flaky salt.
- Garlic parmesan corn: Brush with garlic butter and sprinkle with parmesan.
- Chili lime corn: Add chili powder, lime juice, and a little cotija cheese if you like.
- Smoky corn: Finish with smoked paprika or chipotle powder for a deeper, barbecue-style flavor.
Air Fryer vs. Grill or Smoker
Cooking corn in the air fryer is my favorite way when I want perfect corn fast and don't want to cook outside. It's faster than boiling and especially good for small batches.
But if I'm already making a full outdoor meal, I usually go with a grill or smoker instead. The grill gives corn more char, and the smoker adds a deeper flavor that the air fryer can't really replicate.
If you're already cooking outside, my Traeger corn on the cob or grilled elote recipe is a great grilling option, and my smoked corn on the cob in foil is perfect when you want softer corn with just a hint of smoky flavor.
What to Serve With It
Air fryer corn on the cob goes especially well with air fryer hamburgers, smoked burgers, grilled teriyaki chicken, or smoked chicken tacos. It's simple enough for a weeknight meal but still feels right at home next to BBQ food.
If you have leftover corn, you can also cut the kernels off and use them in salads, pasta salads, tacos, or dips.
How to Store and Reheat
Store leftover corn in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
To reheat, place the corn back in the air fryer for a few minutes until warmed through.
