๐ Ingredients
This is a simple recipe that only has three ingredients.
- Boneless skinless chicken breasts.
- Bacon slices. I used regular-cut bacon.
- Spice rub: This is my favorite Dry Rub for Chicken. It contains brown sugar, garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, roasted garlic and pepper seasoning, chili powder, seasoning salt, and onion powder. Feel free to use your favorite seasonings.

๐ฅ How To Make Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Breast In Air Fryer
- Combine the spice rub ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Dry the raw chicken with a paper towel. Sprinkle the spice rub evenly on each chicken breast, coating the top and bottom.
- Wrap the chicken breast in bacon. You can either weave a few bacon strips together to create a basket weave or wrap a slice of bacon around the chicken, which uses fewer bacon slices and is faster. Tuck the bacon underneath the chicken. If needed, use a toothpick to secure the bacon.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F. Place the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 15 minutes.
- Flip the chicken over carefully so as not to dishevel the bacon slices. Turn the heat down to 380 degrees, and cook for 10 more minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F when measured with a meat thermometer in the thickest part of the chicken.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
๐ Variations
- Saucy: Add barbecue sauce to your chicken before you wrap it in bacon.
- Dip it: Dip the chicken in BBQ sauce, sweet chili sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.
- Spicy: Add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the spice rub.
- Cheesy: Top the chicken breast with a slice of cheese during the last minute of cooking. Cheddar cheese or Swiss cheese would be so good!
- Low-carb: Leave out the brown sugar in the spice rub to make this low-carb and keto-friendly.
- No bacon: Leave off the bacon and make this flavorful Air Fryer Blackened Chicken Breast instead.
๐ก๏ธ Storage
Refrigerator: Store leftover chicken in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
Freezer: Cover the chicken up with plastic wrap and place it in a Ziploc freezer bag. Freezer for up to 2 months
๐ญ Expert Tips
- For faster cooking, slice boneless chicken breasts in half before wrapping them in bacon (like my Air Fryer Thin Chicken Breasts).
- Make sure the chicken breasts are equal in size and thickness for even cooking.
- Use a thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken.
- All air fryers cook differently, so the cooking time may need to be adjusted.
โ Recipe FAQs
The best way to reheat bacon-wrapped chicken is by wrapping it in aluminum foil and placing the package back in the air fryer. Then, heat it on the reheat function until hot, about 5 minutes.
It takes about 25 minutes to cook a bacon-wrapped chicken breast.
The starting temperature is at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes, then 380 degrees F for 10 more minutes, until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F.
