The Secrets To The Ultimate Ninja Creami Blueberry Ice Cream
- Perfect Berry-to-Dairy Ratio - the balance of fresh blueberries to dairy ingredients creates the perfect creamy texture while letting the blueberry flavor shine through without becoming icy.
- Proper 24-Hour Freeze - letting the blueberry mixture freeze completely in the freezer ensures the perfect consistency when processed. Never rush this step!
- The Re-Spin Function - using the re-spin cycle after the first spin breaks down any ice crystals for silky smoothness you can't achieve with just one processing cycle.
Recipe Ingredients

- Fresh Blueberries - Fresh blueberries provide the brightest flavor, but frozen berries work too!
- Milk - I used 2% Fairlife milk, but you can also use whole milk.
- Heavy Cream - I used heavy whipping cream but you can also use canned coconut milk.
- Sugar - I used granulated sugar, but you can substitute cane sugar, honey, maple syrup, or agave.
Full ingredient amounts are provided in the recipe card below.
How to Make Ninja Creami Blueberry Ice Cream:
Step 1: Prepare Your Blueberry Mixture
If using fresh blueberries, wash and thoroughly dry them. If using frozen berries, defrost them fully, then dry as best you can to reduce ice crystals.
Step 2: Combine All Ingredients for the Ice Cream Base
Add add 1 cup of blueberries, milk (1 cup), heavy cream (½ cup), sugar (⅓ cup), and vanilla extract (1 teaspoon) to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy (30-45 seconds).

Step 3: Fill and Freeze the Pint
Pour the blueberry mixture into your Ninja Creami pint container. Do not go past the MAX FILL line. Secure the lid tightly on the pint jar. Place the pint on a level surface in your freezer where it won't tilt. The more level it freezes, the better your results will be. Freeze for a MINIMUM of 24 hours.

Step 4: First Spin in the Ninja Creami
Remove the pint from the freezer and remove the lid. Insert the pint into the outer bowl of your Ninja Creami, secure the lid assembly, and secure it in the machine according to the manufacturer's instructions. Select the "Ice Cream" function for the first spin and let it process.

Step 5: Re-Spin for Perfect Smoothness (Don't Skip This!)
After the first spin, your ice cream might look somewhat powdery or not completely smooth. This is normal! Remove the lid assembly from the pint jar and use a spoon to make a small indent or well in the ice cream. Pour one tablespoon of milk or cream into the well. Secure the lid assembly again and process the ice cream using the 'Re-Spin' function.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!
After the respin, make a well in the ice cream if you want to add mix-ins. Add your preferred mix-ins, like white chocolate chips or crushed graham crackers. Use the 'Mix-In' function.
Use an ice cream scoop or spoon to scoop your blueberry ice cream into bowls and serve immediately. Top with additional fresh blueberries, a drizzle of blueberry syrup, or your favorite toppings.

Variations
Lemon-Blueberry Ice Cream: Add lemon zest and one tablespoon of lemon juice to the base.
Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream: Add 2 oz softened cream cheese before freezing, and add 2 tablespoons of crushed graham crackers as a mix-in after the respin.
Blueberry-Coconut Ice Cream: Substitute coconut milk for the dairy and add ¼ cup toasted coconut flakes as a mix-in.
Honey-Sweetened Blueberry: Replace sugar with ¼ cup honey.
High-Protein Blueberry: Add two tablespoons of vanilla protein powder to the liquid ingredients before freezing for a protein ice cream variation.

Storing and Serving Tips
How to Store Your Ninja Creami Ice Cream
Store any leftover ice cream in the original Ninja Creami pint with the lid secured tightly. Return to the freezer immediately and store for up to 2 weeks.
How to Serve After Freeze Storage
When ready to enjoy again, let the pint sit at room temperature for 5 minutes, then process using the re-spin function. This refreshes the creamy texture to like-new smoothness.

Recipe FAQs
Yes, you can reduce the sugar in the recipe.
The most common reasons are: not enough freeze time (24+ hours is best) or not using the re-spin function after the first spin.
Substitute Fairlife milk for regular whole milk, use Greek yogurt instead of heavy cream, and reduce the sweetener to ¼ cup. You'll get a higher-protein, lower-calorie treat that still tastes amazing.
Yes! Blend 2 cups blueberries, ¼ cup sugar, 2 tablespoons heavy cream, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice in a blender and pour in a Ninja Creami pint jar. Freeze and process on the 'SORBET' setting.

Didn't make it, but I'll rate it high as the ingredients are definitely spot on for a great dessert. I once had a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. But I've never heard of a Ninja Creami, shouldn't you put links on the recipe someplace? Get some affiliate credit, right?
Keep up the great recipes!

Thank you so much Robert - you are just the sweetest! I appreciate the high rating even before trying it! The Ninja Creami is a fun little machine that works differently from a traditional ice cream maker, and it makes the creamiest ice cream. As for links, I usually don’t include affiliate links since I hate bombarding readers with them, but that’s a great point! I'll add one for those curious about the Ninja Creami machine. Thanks again for the support! 🙂
