🍫 Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
This graham cracker toffee bark is easy to make and uses simple ingredients you probably have in your kitchen. And if not, you can easily find them at your grocery store!

- Graham cracker sheets. These make the perfect base for this Christmas candy. I used regular graham crackers. You could use ones that are low-fat or gluten-free. You can also use saltines or ritz crackers.
- Butter. I used unsalted butter, but you could use salted if you like. Salt, toffee, and chocolate go really well together. For best results, use real butter.
- Brown sugar. I used light brown sugar. You could use dark brown sugar if you like; it would give it a richer flavor. You could also use a 50:50 mix of brown and white sugar.
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips. You could also use dark chocolate chips if you like the flavor of dark chocolate. You can also use white chocolate chips or peanut butter chips.
- Toffee bits. These add a delicious crunchy topping that is absolutely unbeatable.

⏲️ How to make graham cracker toffee
Step 1: Prepare the pan. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Take a large baking sheet, and place graham crackers in a single layer. Don't worry; they will get covered with caramel mixture, so it doesn't have to be perfect.

Step 2: Make the homemade toffee sauce. Add the butter and brown sugar to a medium saucepan on medium heat. Use a whisk to stir the sugar mixture. When the butter and sugar come to a boil, stir constantly to prevent burning, until the caramel sauce thickens, about 3 minutes.

Step 3: Immediately pour the toffee sauce evenly over the crackers. Use a rubber spatula to spread it out while it is still warm.

Step 4: Bake. Bake in the oven for 5-6 minutes until bubbly.
Step 5: Add chocolate layer. Remove pan from the oven, and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the toffee sauce. Return the pan to the oven for 2 more minutes. Remove from oven, and immediately spread the melted chocolate chips over the toffee with a spatula.

Step 6: Add Topping. Top with toffee bits evenly on top of the melted chocolate. Now it is time to let the toffee cool. Place the cookie sheet in the freezer for 15-30 minutes, or place it in the refrigerator until set.

Step 7: Cool and Serve. When the candy has cooled and is hardened, use a knife to slice it into squares or break it into pieces.
Enjoy!
