Why this recipe works
- This is the easiest Christmas candy you will make.
- This recipe makes a HUGE batch of candy, perfect for serving on holiday cookie trays or giving away as Christmas gifts.
- It's the perfect sweet treat to take to holiday parties.
- It can be made ahead of time and keeps well in the freezer.
Ingredients and substitutions

- Salted peanuts. A bag of salted peanuts is all you need.
- Peanut butter. Smooth peanut butter melts beautifully with the chocolate.
- Chocolate chips. I used semi-sweet chocolate chips. You could also use dark chocolate, milk chocolate chips, white chocolate, butterscotch, or peanut butter chips. You could even use white almond bark.
- Chocolate bars. I used Lindt Swiss Chocolate Hazelnut Chocolate Bars for the best flavor. However, feel free to experiment with different chocolate bars if you like.

How to make crockpot candy crack
Add peanut butter, chocolate chips, peanut butter, and broken-up chocolate bars to your crockpot. Turn the heat to low and set the timer for one hour. Stir halfway through and again at the one-hour mark. The chocolate and peanut butter should be melted together.

Place mini cupcake liners in small muffin tins or on a baking sheet. Spoon mixture into the muffin tins. (I prefer using a cookie scoop to make it easier). You can also place parchment paper or wax paper on a large cookie sheet and drop spoonful of candy clusters onto it. Decorate with Christmas sprinkles, toffee bits, or coarse sea salt, and place in the refrigerator or freezer until set.
Pro Tip: If you plan to decorate with chocolate chips, allow the homemade Christmas candy to come to room temperature before adding it so it doesn't melt right away.
And that's it! Store this delicious candy in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Variations
- Melt the chocolate mixture in your microwave in a microwave-safe bowl, in a saucepan on your stove over low heat, or in a double boiler.
- Stir in different nuts or Rice Krispies cereal to the mixture.
- Garnish with mini white chocolate chips, chopped peanuts or pecans, toffee bits, crushed candy canes, holiday sprinkles, or mini M&Ms.
