🍄 Ingredient Notes
You can easily find all the ingredients to make these delicious air fryer stuffed mushrooms at your local grocery store.

- Mushrooms. Many types of mushrooms will work for this recipe, including Baby Bella mushrooms, cremini mushrooms, or white button mushrooms. I used medium to large mushrooms so they would hold the filling easily.
- Panko bread crumbs. I used Panko bread crumbs because they give the biggest crunch, but you can use gluten-free bread crumbs or regular bread crumbs as well.
- Sharp cheddar cheese. Feel free to use different types of cheese, or try a combination of cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Crab meat. I used one can of real crab meat. Make sure to remove the legs and cartilage pieces before using. You can also use real crab or imitation crab, just make sure to chop it finely.
- Cream cheese. I used regular fat cream cheese, but light cream cheese would also work.

🔪 How To Make Air Fryer Stuffed Mushrooms
First, clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any loose dirt or debris. If you rinse mushrooms under water, dry them quickly so they don't get slimy.
Remove the stems from the mushrooms by twisting them gently. They should just pop off. Cut off the end of the hard stem and discard. Chop up the rest of the stem finely. Set the mushroom caps off to the side.

Place a small skillet over medium heat with the olive oil. Add the diced green onion and chopped mushroom stems. Saute until the onion is translucent, about 4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for one more minute. Remove from heat.

In a small bowl, mix together the onion mixture, crab, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, seasoning salt, and black pepper.

Stuff about 1 tablespoon of the mixture into each mushroom cap, lightly pressing down with the back of a spoon to fit as much stuffing as possible without overflowing. Try to use all of the stuffing.

Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F.
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and Panko bread crumbs.
Press each stuffed mushroom, filling side down, into the bread crumbs.

Place mushrooms into the preheated air fryer basket, making sure to leave space between the mushrooms for the air to circulate. You may need to cook them in batches.

Place the basket back into the air fryer gently.
Air fry for 10 minutes, until the mushrooms are cooked through and the filling is golden brown and crispy on top.

Serve immediately with your favorite condiments, such as marinara sauce or ranch dressing!
Enjoy!

♨️ Oven Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Place the mushrooms on a sheet pan and bake in the oven for 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown. *If using a convection oven, reduce heat to 350 degrees F.
⏲️ Make Ahead Directions
- Prepare the mushrooms according to the recipe, but instead of cooking them, place them in an airtight container, or in a dish and cover them with plastic wrap and place them in the refrigerator. When ready to cook, remove from the fridge and cook according to the recipe.
- If layering the mushrooms in a container, separate each layer with parchment paper.
💭 Expert Tips
- Make sure to choose mushrooms that have similar sizes so they cook evenly in the air fryer. If using larger mushrooms, increase the cooking time by a few minutes.
- Place the stuffed mushrooms in the air fryer in a single layer, making sure to leave space between them.
- If you would like extra crispy mushrooms, spray them lightly with avocado oil before cooking.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket - leave enough space between each stuffed mushroom so they can crisp up properly. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook the mushrooms in batches if necessary.
- Gently insert the basket into the air fryer so the mushrooms don't fall over.
- Top with some chopped parsley before serving for a pretty presentation.
- Let your stuffed mushrooms cool slightly before serving so they don’t burn your tongue!
❓ Recipe FAQs
Air fryer stuffed mushrooms usually take around 10 minutes to cook. The time may vary depending on the type of air fryer and the size of your mushrooms, so it’s best to keep an eye on them while they are cooking. The mushrooms should be cooked until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, while still being juicy on the inside. Once they have reached this stage, they are ready to be served!
Yes, you can serve stuffed mushrooms at room temperature. However, they are best enjoyed warm or hot. To keep them warm, simply place the cooked mushrooms on a platter and cover them with aluminum foil until they are ready to be served.
Yes, it is recommended to wash mushrooms before stuffing them. This is because they naturally contain a lot of dirt, which can affect the flavor and texture of the final dish. The best way to clean mushrooms is to rinse each one with cold water, then pat them dry with a paper towel or cloth. Be sure not to soak them in water for too long, as this could make them slimy or soggy when cooked.
To store leftover air fryer stuffed mushrooms, first, let them cool completely. Then, transfer them to an airtight container and place them in the refrigerator for up to three days. Alternatively, you can freeze them for longer-term storage – just make sure to thaw them in the refrigerator overnight before reheating them in the air fryer.
