DELICIOUS: I love the flavor of this creamy low-carb dip. It is seriously addicting.

LOW CARB: The best part about this recipe is that it's low carb so you don't have to feel guilty when you eat it, and it's perfect for the ketogenic diet.

GREAT FOR LEFTOVERS: IF you have any leftovers, it tastes great the next day too.

❓ What is a keto diet?

A keto diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet that has been proven to be a more effective way to lose weight and reduce body fat. A keto diet forces your body into a state of ketosis, which is when your body starts burning fat for energy instead of carbohydrates.

🥬 Can you have spinach dip on keto diet?

Yes, as long as it is low in carbs and sugar. This dip recipe is keto-friendly, low-carb, gluten-free, and with no added sugar. Eat it with keto crackers or pork rinds.

    🧅 Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

With these common ingredients, you'll have a delicious and easy keto-friendly spinach dip.

Ingredients for keto spinach dip on a wooden table, measured out and placed in white containers.
    • Spinach. I used fresh spinach, cooked and squeezed dry. You can also use 14 oz. of frozen spinach instead. I find that the fresh spinach gives it a better flavor and a fresh taste.
    • Cream cheese. I used full-fat softened cream cheese. If you want to cut calories, you could use low-fat cream cheese.
    • Sour cream. I used full-fat sour cream, but you can use lower fat sour cream if you like.
    • Mayo. I used avocado mayo for this dip, but you can use your favorite mayo.
    • Black pepper. This adds great flavor to this dip.
    • Onion powder. Adds more great flavor without being too overpowering.
    • Garlic powder. You could also use finely minced fresh garlic.
    • Worcestershire sauce. This really adds to the flavor.
    • Green onion. I used chopped fresh green onion. You could also use 1 tablespoon of onion flakes instead of fresh onion.
    • Parmesan cheese. Don't leave this out, it is SO good.

🥗 How to Make The Best Keto Spinach Dip Recipe

This low-carb version of traditional spinach dip is quick and easy to make

First, cook up the spinach. Place spinach in a large skillet. Heat over medium heat until wilted, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and cool.

Fresh spinach cooked completely down in large skillet.

Next, place softened cream cheese in a medium bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.

Cream cheese in a glass bowl, blended until it starts to get smooth.

Next, add sour cream and mayo to the cream cheese. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

Add black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce to the cream cheese mixture. Blend until well combined.

Next, add chopped green onion and parmesan cheese to the cream cheese mixture. Blend until smooth at low speed.

Green onion and parmesan cheese added on top of the cream cheese mixture in a glass bowl.

Next, squeeze out excess water from the spinach. I just squeeze it with my hands, then wrap it in a paper towel and squeeze some more to get all of the moisture out that I can. Place spinach on a large cutting board and chop with a knife.

Add chopped spinach to the cream cheese mixture. Stir in with a spoon or spatula.

Chopped spinach added to the cream cheese mixture, being stirred in with a grey spatula.

Transfer the creamy spinach dip to a serving container.

Top with extra chopped green onion if desired, and serve!

    Enjoy!

That's all there is to it! Enjoy!

Hint: Leave the cream cheese on the counter for 30 minutes before blending it. This will ensure it softens and has a smooth and creamy consistency without lumps.

Hint: Place the bowl in the sink so if there is any splatter from blending it is easy to clean up. 🙂

Hint: Chop the spinach before you cook it. 🙂

⏲️ Can I make this ahead?

You can make this cold keto spinach dip ahead of time. Just place it in the fridge, covered, and give it a stir when you serve it.
