Pizza Hut BBQ chicken pizza is one of my all-time favorite pizzas. Its amazing flavor never gets old, so I decided to make my favorite pizza at home even better by adding ranch dressing! You can even make Restaurant Style Ranch Dressing!
Recipe Ingredients
Only a few ingredients are required to make this delicious BBQ ranch chicken pizza.
- Pizza dough. I used my Quick Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe which only takes 20 minutes. Feel free to use a tube of pizza dough or pre-made pizza crust. You can also use naan bread or 3 Ingredient Flatbread and make individual pizzas!
- Cooked chicken, shredded. I made Instant Pot Chicken Breasts, and by the time the dough was ready, the chicken was cooked. You can also use Two Ingredient Instant Pot BBQ Chicken or a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store.
- Red onion, diced. I like red onion for it's sweeter and milder taste, but you can use your favorite onion
- BBQ ranch sauce. Combine your favorite BBQ sauce with your favorite ranch dressing.
- Mozzarella cheese. You can also use pizza cheese or a blend of your favorite cheeses.
- Optional toppings. You can also top your pizza with jalapeno peppers, mushrooms, bacon, pineapple, or bell peppers.

How To Make BBQ Chicken Ranch Pizza
- First, preheat your oven to 450 degrees F.
- If making the pizza dough from scratch, proof the yeast in a measuring cup with water, sugar, and yeast for 5 minutes. Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon, then knead with your hands or a stand mixer with the dough hook until the dough is a soft, smooth ball. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a floured surface to fit a pizza pan or baking sheet. Let it rest for 10 minutes while you prep the rest of the ingredients.
- Combine barbecue sauce and ranch dressing in a small bowl. Toss the cooked chicken with a few spoonfuls of sauce until evenly coated.
- Cover the pizza dough with the BBQ ranch mixture.
- Top with shredded chicken, diced onion, and top with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted on top. Top with cilantro for garnish, cut into slices and serve immediately. Enjoy!

- You can also use rotisserie chicken to save on time for this BBQ chicken pizza recipe.
- Use any kind of leftover chicken. Leftover Smoked Chicken Breasts and Smoked Whole Chicken are delicious!

Yes! You must cook the chicken before putting it on the pizza! Raw chicken will not have enough time to cook, so always use cooked chicken on pizza. You can either chop it or shred it.

Ingredients
Homemade Pizza Dough From Scratch
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons quick-rise yeast or pizza yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
BBQ Chicken Ranch Pizza
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- ½ cup ranch dressing
- 2 cups cooked chicken shredded
- ½ cup red onion diced
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- chopped cilantro optional garnish
Instructions
Make Pizza Dough
- Combine yeast and sugar with warm water in a small bowl. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy on top. Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix with a wooden spoon or the dough hook on a stand mixer. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and place in the greased pan.
Assemble BBQ Chicken Ranch Pizza
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Combine the BBQ sauce and ranch dressing in a small bowl. Toss the shredded cooked chicken with a few spoonfuls of the BBQ ranch sauce.
- Spread the barbecue ranch sauce evenly on the pizza crust. Top with chicken, red onion, and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake the pizza for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Top with fresh cilantro if you like, and enjoy immediately!
Recipe Notes:
- For a thicker-crust pizza, let it rise for 10-15 minutes after placing it in the pizza pan. For a thin-crust pizza, don't allow any rise time; prepare the pizza right away.
- Feel free to use premade pizza dough or naan bread for individual pizzas.
- You can also use rotisserie chicken to save on time.
- Do not skip covering the chicken in BBQ sauce before placing it on the pizza. This prevents the chicken from being too dry.
