Place trivet in the instant pot and add 1 cup of water. Place chicken breasts in a single layer on the trivet.
Place about ⅓ cup of barbecue sauce on top of the chicken breasts. Secure the lid. Set to high pressure for 15 minutes.
After the 15 minutes, natural pressure release for 5 minutes. Then, quick release the remaining pressure and open the lid.
