All that is required to make this easy smoked spatchcock turkey is: -whole turkey  -melted butter -homemade turkey rub

Preheat the smoker . Use kitchen shears to cut along the sides of the backbone. Remove the backbone entirely.

Pat the turkey dry with a paper towel.

Sprinkle the dry rub liberally over the entire turkey, being sure to get underneath the legs and on the sides of the bird.

Place the turkey directly on the grill grate of your smoker.

After the turkey has been smoking for 2 hours, drizzle melted butter over the turkey to give it a crispy skin. Continue to smoke until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.

Remove the turkey from the grill and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Let the turkey rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.
