Dry Rub for Smoked Brisket

This homemade Dry Rub for Smoked Brisket will give your meat a beautiful dark bark with delicious flavor. It has the perfect blend of seasoning and spices to make your brisket taste amazing! Plus, it only takes five minutes to make using basic ingredients!

– 2 tbsp coarse salt – 2 tbsp brown sugar – 1 tbsp onion powder – 1 tbsp garlic powder – 1 tbsp smoked paprika – ½ tbsp black pepper – ½ tbsp chili powder – ½ tsp dry mustard powder


Place all the spices in a small bowl or a glass jar.



Use a spoon to mix all the ingredients together until evenly combined. If using a jar, shake for 10 seconds to combine.

Sprinkle dry rub on meat liberally with a spoon, using your hands to push the rub into the meat.

For best results, place the brisket back in the fridge and let it sit for at least 8 hours before smoking.

Store in an airtight jar or a Ziploc bag in a cool, dry place.
